Software Description: Pronunciation Coach shows you how to accurately pronounce any English words and phrase. Simply type in the word or phrase and create a pronunciation model. Each model provides an interactive view of the speech production process and includes:
- Audio, for listening to the pronunciation
- Video, for viewing the tongue, vocal folds, velum and lips
- Waveforms, for viewing timing, pitch and speech intensity
- Phonetic symbols, to identify the individual speech sounds
You can also record your pronunciation and compare it to the model, whilst the integrated speech recognizer provides a measure of how well you pronounced the word or phrase.
How does it work?
Step 1: Create a pronunciation model by simply typing in the word or phrase you want to learn, or select from over 21,000 words in the list.
Step 2: Make a recording of your pronunciation and compare it to the model. The recording contains audio and video captured from your webcam.
Step 3: Check the speech recognition result to see if your pronunciation was recognized correctly. A confidence score also provides a measure of how well the word or phrase was pronounced.
